If you are one of the commited Scouters fortunate enough to be going to Wood Badge this year, please get your balance paid ASAP, or you may missout. We have 54 participants currently signed up, for a 48 person course. It is first paid in full, first guaranteed to attend. Summer is finally here, so it’s time to start thinking about going back to school! The fall is the best time to recruit new kids and adults into your Cub Scout pack and a School Night for Scouting is the best way to do it! Call Warren and Kate at 925-1900 to schedule your school night, TODAY! Program Kickoff We’ve got to have something to keep all those kids we recruit in the fall busy, right? Get your unit pumped up for a great year of Scouting by having ALL of your volunteers and parents attend the Pathfinder District Program Kickoff on Aug.14. You’ll be able to get all the information you need to make this the best year of Scouting yet. You can sign up for the popcorn sale, school nights, as well as eat and socialize with your fellow Pathfindorians. Invitations and more information will be in your mailbox and available at roundtable soon. Last year, balloons of money fell from the sky! Who knows what our program team has up their sleeves this year? Webelos to Scout Transition
Webelos to Scout transition is a year-round process. The summer months are a great time for getting to know the second year Webelos, their parents and den leaders. Invite Webelos to Boy Scout summer camp family night or visit them at Webelos Adventure Camp. Spend some time to introduce the Boy Scout program to Webelos leaders, parents and the pack’s leadership and offer to help with the pack’s “Back to School Night” in August/September.
Another important step is to share the troop calendar with the Webelos, invite them to a summer activity or service project, especially if you cannot arrange a visit at summer camp. Finally, identify which Boy Scouts may be interested in serving as Webelos den chiefs in the fall. The following steps will help you stay on track with Webelos to Scout transition: • Boy Scout troops should invite first year Webelos den(s) to visit the troop at Boy Scout summer camp • Webelos den leaders should invite a Boy Scout troop leader and Senior Patrol Leader to visit their den at Webelos Adventure Camp
• Begin to collect contact information on new second year Webelos (June 1 all Cub Scout dens advance officially, so first year Webelos advance to second year Webelos, Bears advance to first year Webelos, etc.) • After consulting with pack leaders, appoint den chiefs 2010 National Jamboree

The fact that youth and adult members of Scouting wear a uniform doesn't mean that we're all alike. We come from different ethnic and racial backgrounds. We have our own religious beliefs and political views. We are each individuals with our own family traditions and loyalties. So the uniform is not intended to hide our individuality. But it is a way we give each other strength and support. It is a bond that ties us together in spite of our differences. It is a way of making visible our commitment to a belief in God, loyalty to country, and to helping other people. The Scouting movement is built on positive values. As we wear the uniform, we are openly identifying ourselves with those values where everyone can see us. We stand together, not alone, in encouraging others to live by those same principles. Boys and adults alike should take pride in belonging to such a movement and wear the uniform as it is intended. Wear your uniform proudly! Scout Uniforms
Troops and Packs are free to create their own Class B shirt. The most well-known place to design and purchase these shirts is ClassB.com which is a full-service web site offering custom t-shirts and patches. They are an official licensee of the Boy Scouts of America, have a great reputation of service and quality products since 1982, and have Eagle Scouts running the company. The links below list the parts of the uniforms for cub scout and boy scout programs. Placement of badges, pins, and patches are explained since this is one of the areas where uniforms are sometimes implemented incorrectly.
